I have decided to write about Trump disavowing racism because still to this day, not a lot of people are aware of the truth. President Donald Trump Condemned white supremacy a plethora of times even before he ran for President of the United States back in 2016. He even stated publicly that he was against racism and the KKK in the year 2000.
Did you know he condemned white supremacy, neo-nazi, and racism 38 times?
Anyway, there is a famous line that everyone seems to know:
“They were very fine people on both sides”
This moment took place after the violence at Charlottesville when a white supremacist killed a woman in 2017.
After the tragic incident, Trump did a press conference saying “you had very fine people on both sides” meaning people on both sides of the debate about the Robert E. Lee statue. Under the same breath, he also said, “I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally.”
In his 2020 presidential debate with Joe Biden, Trump didn’t condemn the proud boys. Instead, he stated, “stand back and stand by” which I thought was a good response. The Proud Boys are not a racist organization, they are pretty diverse including whites, blacks, and Hispanics. The chairman of the Proud Boys is Enrique Tarrio who is actually Afro-Cuban but the mainstream media continues to portray the organization as a neo-nazi and far-right group which is far from the truth. Not all of the men who are part of this particular organization are Trump supporters, some are even apolitical. It’s a fraternal organization that teaches young men to be men!
